Transition Team Report
The Transition Teams Steps for Discerning Our Mission Site Profile: Eight congregation focus groups, a church leadership focus group, congregation surveys, and individual interviews were used to collect information. Every church member was invited to be part of the process and give input. After the initial information was collected, the six transition team members completed the Ministry Profile and Seven Reflections. Summaries will be presented during coffee hours following worship on Sunday morning, March 13th to present results to the congregation and to allow for additional input. The final documents will be presented to the council for approval to submit. Throughout the process, Redeemer members have been excited to participate and share their thoughts. It is obvious that people care very deeply about this congregation and the call process. Some primary goals to which Redeemer is committed:Our Mission Statement is "Word of God. Way of Life." We do not have an official strategic plan. However, if you visit with the church council and other leadership, our current goals are in the following areas:
These are the things Redeemer is really excited about right now!Our energy comes from our people. We are excited about the prospect of a new Pastor and his or her new energy, ideas and perspective. The coming together to have conversations to get us to the point of choosing a new pastor has been very positive. High on our list of excitement is the addition of many young families and children to the congregation. We have a strong group of core leaders and volunteers who make possible our "reaching out" into the community. Our outreach programs are a strong and visible example of Christ's work through us. These come in many forms, wwwRedeemer, a program to provide products that food stamps do not allow, our quilters, who provide blankets for Lutheran World Relief, our support of two food pantries, and our participation and financial support of Luther Heights Bible Camp. We are excited about our facilities which are in the best condition they have been in a number of years. Our music program (choir and church pianists/organists) has been a blessing to our worship and a key entity to keeping us together during this time of transition. We know that the Holy Spirit is guiding us through this transition period and will lead a new Pastor to us and this gives us energy to move forward. It is exciting! The Transition Team submitted the Mission Site Profile to the Synod on Wednesday, March 23rd, after being given approval by the church Council.
